Rahul is still not my Hero

The Congress is potraying Rahul [Gandhi] as a come back Hero. I am also reading blogs written by Congress men like Mani Shankar Iyer who had appreciated the latest debate in the Parliaments that Rahul did speak in favour of the poor,  comparing him to the Father of our Nation. Mani is a rare  Congress-Men and should spend his effort in representing the peoples views on the grass roots . but I dont understand where the loyalties tilt in the congress. Is it to the Ideals of the Party or the obligations to endorse a Czar family which has been disconnected from the realities of socail life.

Definitely Rahul required a break, after all he was totally bruised . But the hype that is being created for is sudden disappearance, which again I felt was expected :) and reappearing on the parliament debate criticising Modi for his "pro rich reforms". Is seen as Rocky punching back in the end rounds.

The local media hyped him as saying he was doing Yoga and meditation to understand the sensitivities of the people. They also commented that he travelled in second class in train. Rahul, from a Family who had 3 Prime ministers, would really have difficulty in connecting with the people? He wouldn’t have required any mentoring on subjects like leaderships and social politics. Unless he really wanted to...

Mahathma Gandhi who had been in South Africa fighting against the racial discrimination had to travel extensively in India before  venturing into active social life. He was dealing with a different set of problems unlike in South Africa. Nehru being the rich guy and totally disconnected with the ground realities took refuge of Gandhi as his Guru. Which also makes sense!!

I feel Rahul is still that reluctant guy who is forced to take the mantle of leadership and party politics. What is required here for him is a honest introspection and soul searching of what he really wants to do in life.

If we are to serve this country, politics is not the only channel. if we are to be a leader, politics is again not the only platform!!
